Even if Anderson really picks up the pace and gives no respite to the protagonist or the audience, the film is not very exciting. But the second aspect, the portrait of a distraught man, is also not very convincing. Sam Worthington, first of all

First a marital quarrel, then his daughter’s broken arm and finally strange happenings in the hospital: “Fractured” barely gives the protagonist time to catch his breath. Despite the subsequent high pace, the thriller is not all that gripping, as the ending is very predictable. Even as a portrait of a mentally damaged man, this isn’t enough. However, you won’t know for sure what’s going on until all is revealed near the end. For me, the last few scenes were crazier than I expected. And I mean that in a very positive way indeed!

What I loved about Ray Monroe’s character is that we see him as a “less than perfect” (to put it mildly) father and husband from the very first scene. He fights his demons and his wife Joanne (played with heartbreak and emotion by Lily Rabe of

Another thing that works really well is the fact that the doctors in this hospital seem pretty suspicious. That said, you can’t blame Ray for being quite drastic at times. Then again, remember that until the very end, we see everything through Ray’s eyes.

I write reviews and summaries of Horror Heaven. And yes, I scream when I watch a good horror movie. I love psychological horror, survival horror and women. So I have a soft spot for a good horror comedy. Oh yeah, and I absolutely hate when animals get hurt in movies, so I’ll immediately think less of any movie where animals get hurt for fun (even if the animals are just really good actors).
